Raffle Grand Prize for the 2008 Chicago Drum Show: Craviotto Hybrid Snare Drum! 1/2 Walnut, 1/2 Cherry, with an inlaid ring of maple. The mix of cherry and walnut results in a drum that is full and deep, yet clear-sounding. This drum is the latest in a long series of groundbreaking custom snare drums from master craftsman Johnny Craviotto. It's worth a trip to the Chicago Drum Show just to see and hear this snare drum.

This very unique raffle prize (below) is being made possible through a collaborative effort involving the good folks at Vaughncraft, Ghostnote Forum, and Drum Foundry. The Vaughncraft shell is a one-off made specially for this project with solid woods. Top and bottom sections are bubinga, the center section is birdseye maple, and the sections between the bubinga and maple are osage orange. http://www.ghostnote.net/vbforum/showthread.php?t=22505&highlight=vaughncraft

Another spectacular Vaughncraft shell making it's way to the raffle is shown below. This one is another collaboration, between Vaughncraft and Kyle Mastro of MCD Percussion. This shell is Wenge and Zebrawood. Lugs for this drum have been donated by Allstar Lugs.
